You guys, can we take a moment to celebrate Balatro? This poker-inspired roguelike deck builder has officially sold a whopping 3.5 million units in its first year! I mean, that’s insane! It’s like everyone decided they needed some Joker card action in their lives, who wouldn’t want that?

Developed by LocalThunk and published by Playstack, Balatro is not just your average card game; it’s a wild ride where you mix unique Joker cards with valid poker hands to create all sorts of crazy combos. It’s no wonder players are flocking to this gem, available on practically every platform under the sun, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

And get this: Balatro isn’t just sitting pretty with its sales numbers. The game has also teamed up with some heavy hitters over time! We’re talking about unique cards inspired by fan-favorite titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Among Us. Recently, CD Projekt Red returned the favor by sneaking into a Balatro-themed side quest into Cyberpunk’s latest update 2.2. How cool is that?

But wait, there’s more! Bellator has raked in nearly $4.4 million on mobile. Plus, hold onto your hats because developers are teasing a significant gameplay update in 2025. What do you think? Is there anything better than new content dropping for a game you love?
