Focus Entertainment has released a new patch for the PC version of Atomic Heart, and the update removes Denuvo anti-tamper technology from the game. The change applies to the PC build and leaves the title without the DRM layer it used since launch.
Atomic Heart arrived in February 2023, so Denuvo remained in place for more than three years before this patch. The timing also follows a July 2026 crack of the game, although Focus Entertainment did not provide a reason for removing the protection in the material available for this report.
Atomic Heart’s PC Support Continues
The removal is the latest post-launch change for Mundfish’s action RPG. Atomic Heart originally shipped without its planned ray-tracing effects, but a later update added them to the PC version. Those effects focus on reflections and ambient occlusion.
Focus Entertainment’s decision also fits a broader pattern of publishers taking Denuvo out of older PC releases. Square Enix, for example, removed the software from Just Cause 3 after the sandbox game had spent roughly a decade on the market.
For Atomic Heart players, the immediate result is simple: the current PC version no longer includes Denuvo. The update does not add new gameplay content in the information available here.
