Assassin’s Creed Shadows is getting a fresh content injection with the 1.0.4 update dropping tomorrow. This patch brings a free new quest, updates to the codex, and a handful of bug fixes. If you’ve been eager for more story and lore, this update might be just what you need.
New Free Quest
The highlight of this update is the free quest titled “The Works of Luis Frois”. You’ll play as Naoe and Yasuke, tasked with recovering lost notes, protecting Lady Satoko, and uncovering more about the Jesuits. To unlock this quest, you must first complete “The Path He Walks” on Yasuke’s Board. Luis Frois can be found south of the Merchants’ Quarters in Azuchi, setting the stage for this interesting mission.
Alongside the new quest, the update adds character entries to the codex. This means you’ll get detailed bios for every ally and enemy you encounter, which adds some nice depth to the game’s world. It’s a neat way to keep track of the many faces you meet on your journey.
A batch of bug fixes is included, which you can check out in full detail in the official patch notes. Depending on your platform, the patch size varies between 4 and 20 GB, so plan accordingly.
According to the recently revealed year 1 roadmap, this free quest is one of two updates planned for May. The next update, expected later this month, will bring new parkour features, improvements to photo mode, and the first unique collaboration for the game.
Tomorrow we will be releasing Title Update 1.0.4 for #AssassinsCreedShadows!
