Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake leak points to fresh characters and story content
A rating entry tied to Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced says the 2026 version will include a new cast and additional story material.

A new leak has given the clearest sign yet that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will bring more than a visual refresh. An Indonesian ratings entry now points to new characters and stories in the remake, which has been circulating under the Resynced name.
The detail surfaced after a security breach at the Indonesian Game Ratings System, or IGRS, which exposed information on several games. One of the items tied to that leak was Black Flag Resynced, and the listing suggests the remake includes new content rather than a straight retread of the 2013 game. The rating entry is available on the IGRS search page.
What the rating entry says
The synopsis attached to the listing says the game “breathes new life” into the original while staying faithful to its tone. It also repeats the core setup around Edward Kenway and his Caribbean pirate journey, but the final line makes the biggest change clear, “Modernized in 2026, the new game includes a cast of new characters and stories.”
This title breathes new life into a fan favourite while remaining carefully faithful to the spirit of the original. It follows the story of charismatic pirate and Assassin Edward Kenway as he adventures through 18th Century Caribbean with parkours in cities, and battles at seas, in search of fortune and glory. Modernized in 2026, the new game includes a cast of new characters and stories.
The leak also lines up with a post from TheRealZephryss on X, which pointed to the IGRS entry after it was spotted by PedroJosLagesM1. The listing itself gives Black Flag Resynced an 18+ rating.

That is the clearest sign so far that Ubisoft is not just polishing the pirate classic for a new release. If this rating material holds up, the remake will revisit Edward Kenway’s story with extra characters and additional narrative beats layered on top.
