ARC Raiders Update 2.2 Patch Notes

Content and Bug Fixes

Animation

General

  • Fixed an issue where the wind animations would not play on the Frigate.
  • Fixed an issue where the Vault Spring jump animation sometimes failed to play.
  • Fixed an issue where Selfie Emotes could appear distorted while moving.

Grappling Hook

  • Fixed an issue where swapping to a weapon immediately after throwing the Grappling Hook could cause weapon animations to break.
  • Polished climbing rope swing animations for smoother transitions when climbing up and jumping off.
  • The Grappling Hook throw animations now follow your up/down aim correctly, and the dodge roll animation while attached has been smoothed to prevent visual popping.

Audio

General

  • Fixed audio when opening and searching loot containers on the Frigate and inside the Emperor.
  • Tuned distance and air absorption for Frigate engine and Frigate Cannon audio to improve balance over range.
  • Adjusted blunt damage and debris impact sounds to be louder and scale properly.
  • Fixed missing looting sounds on Transmitter Debris objects.
  • Adjusted Bombardier mortar firing audio to reduce overly loud, close-sounding effects at long distances.
  • Polished Cassio’s and Celeste’s voice lines for improved clarity and consistency.
  • Added voice responses for the Cowboy emote.

Ballistic Gondola

  • Fixed an issue where Ballistic Gondola engine audio could drop out during takeoff, ensuring continuous rocket sound.
  • Extended the Ballistic Gondola takeoff preparation sound to prevent it from cutting off when multiple players board in sequence.
  • Added distant variations of Ballistic Gondola boarding and takeoff alarms to improve audio positioning and distance cues.
  • Polished Ballistic Gondola door interaction sounds and fixed an issue where the door open sound could play twice when entering and exiting.

ARC

  • Fixed an issue where certain ARC could be more accurate than intended against sliding players; their aim now correctly accounts for sliding targets.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hydra’s weapons wouldn’t spread to different targets as often as intended. We’ve increased the base damage to compensate for this corrected targeting behavior, ensuring its overall threat level remains competitive. We’ve also addressed an issue where it struggled to hit close-range targets.
  • ARC will now react to Gondola Transceivers being interacted with.

Gameplay

Frigate

  • Fixed an issue where players could be ejected from the cargo while it was falling from the Frigate.
  • Fixed an issue where you could be instantly knocked out when riding on the side of a Frigate cargo drop. Being crushed now only applies at the landing point, and riders inside.
  • Fixed an issue where Raiders riding on a Frigate cargo drop could be burned during descent; thruster heat now only affects areas near landing.

Emperor

  • Fixed an issue where moving platforms inside the Emperor could become out of sync, improving reliability when riding or crossing them.

Items

General

  • Fixed an issue where Tether Launchers could not be repaired in-round.
  • Fixed an issue where the Geometric Fabric Chair Design blueprint was not granted after consuming it.

Grappling Hook

  • Improved the experience of rappeling to the ground with the Grappling Hook.
  • Improved auto-vaulting from Grappling Hook, made the wall detection more reliable and work more consistent on steep slopes.
  • Improved swing and rope-climb entry near the ground:
    • Climbing continues briefly when starting a climb from the ground.
    • Velocity toward the rope is preserved, so jumping from the ground carries into a climb.
    • Attaching to a rope on a steep slope now enters the wall-climb state.
    • Fixed unintended landing when climbing beneath an overhead rope.

Maps

General

  • Increased the spawn consistency of ARC Turbines in Buried City, Riven Tides, Blue Gate and Spaceport; in sessions where they previously only had a chance of spawning, they should now instead spawn in an overwhelming majority of, if not all, sessions.
  • Fixed visual culling on Frigate lighting scenarios in Buried City, Spaceport, Blue Gate, and Adjusted map boundaries near the Emperor to prevent players from clipping out of bounds.
  • Fixed some issues with the coverage of the compaction killboxes inside the Emperor.

  • Increased the enemy presence slightly.

Dam Battlegrounds

  • Removed ARC Turbine spawns from standard sessions and most minor map conditions. In the remaining conditions, they should now spawn in an overwhelming majority of, if not all, sessions.

Stella Montis

  • Improved lighting and reflections to enhance visual clarity and consistency across time-of-day scenarios.

Movement

  • Jumping off the wall during a Wall Run now requires holding backward to activate to help avoid triggering it accidentally.
  • Enabled interactions from wall climbing to allow transitioning into ladders and ziplines.

Performance

  • Reduced memory usage from loot spawning systems to improve overall stability during rounds.
  • Optimized the Frigate entry sequence.

Quest

  • “To the Skies” can be completed on any map no matter where progress has been made, players only need to complete the installation in one location to complete the quest.
  • “Belly of the Beast” optional objective now requires the correct item as described in the objective text.

Stability

  • Reduced memory usage in Frigate interiors to address rare crashes when exploring the cargo hold.

  • Feats rebalance: We’ve added new Feats, removed some existing ones, and rebalanced others to create a smoother experience and better progression through the Reward Pass.

Outpost

  • Fixed an issue where the Workshop screen could appear broken if the basic workbench was placed in the last available Outpost slot.
  • Your Raider is now hidden when inspecting or decorating furniture and when viewing a bench’s Generator screen, preventing the camera from being blocked.

  • Players can still die after entering the Ballistic Gondola if they are downed and very close to being knocked out.
  • Some XBOX players may experience instability or crashes.
  • The Grapple Hook can, in rare instances, cause the player using it to be thrown upwards at high speed.
