ARC Raiders Adaptations Could Tell More Character-Driven Stories
Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal says Embark will contribute input while trusting Chernin Entertainment with the adaptations.

ARC Raiders’ TV and movie adaptations could tell more character-focused stories than the game does, but Embark has not settled on a direction yet. Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal says the studio wants to see which concepts emerge before deciding how far to take its world onscreen.
Grøndal described ARC Raiders’ setting as “fertile ground to tell all kinds of different stories” in a GamesRadar interview. The game leaves much of its narrative open, delivering pieces through quests, short cutscenes and cinematic trailers while players form their own stories through raids.
That leaves an adaptation room to put specific people at the center rather than rely on players to piece together the setting themselves. The world follows humanity’s remaining survivors in the late 22nd century as they try to understand and push back against machines that have taken over Earth’s surface. On screen, those stakes could be carried by a defined cast and their decisions, rather than the improvised clashes and alliances that play out in raids.
Embark also plans to stay involved rather than hand the IP over completely. Grøndal said the studio will provide input to preserve its view of the brand while trusting Chernin Entertainment with the creative work. The adaptation plans also include The Finals, Embark’s earlier, more competitive shooter.
