Apex Legends Removes Wildcard Death Box Banners While a Skin Text Bug Remains
Respawn is also working on mirrored "SKIPPY" text appearing on the Mythic Alternator skin.

Apex Legends received a small update on July 15, 2026. The latest Steam update removes banners from Wildcard death boxes, while Respawn continues working on a visual issue affecting the Mythic Alternator skin.
The fix should make Wildcard death boxes less cluttered by removing banners from their contents. The update also acknowledges a separate problem where the word “SKIPPY” appears mirrored on the Mythic Alternator.

💡KNOWN ISSUE:
Our team is aware of a bug causing the mirrored presentation of “SKIPPY” on the Mythic Alternator skin. While we are selective about which weapons receive this level of granular detail due to the complexity of texturing and weapon variations, the mirrored text was not intended in this specific case.
The team is actively working on a fix and hopes to have it resolved soon. We’ll circle back with an update once the issue has been addressed.
