A24’s Elden Ring film has a production budget of nearly $200 million, according to the Wall Street Journal’s report, which cites people familiar with the matter. The adaptation is scheduled to reach theaters on March 3, 2028, and the figure would make it the studio’s most expensive movie to date.

At nearly three times the $70 million spent on Marty Supreme, the Elden Ring budget would set a new studio record. Civil War previously held A24’s top spot, with a budget of about $50 million.
Alex Garland will write and direct the adaptation, as he did with Civil War. The film’s art and props department wrapped six months of work in July 2026, before post-production, which was still ahead at that point.
