Elden Ring Movie’s Art and Props Work Wraps After Six Months

The adaptation stars Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, and Cailee Spaeny, with post-production now ahead of its scheduled March 3, 2028 release.

The Elden Ring movie reached a production milestone on July 30, as work involving its art and props department wrapped after six months. The project is being directed by Alex Garland for A24, with the team tasked with bringing the Lands Between to the screen.

Sean Schofield, who worked in the film’s art and props department, shared the update after receiving an A24 gift bag made for the production crew. His message described six months of demanding work and praised the people who helped build the movie’s physical elements.

Schofield also indicated that the team cannot share more details for now. That leaves much of the adaptation under wraps, including how the movie will handle Hidetaka Miyazaki‘s sprawling dark-fantasy setting and its many creatures, locations, and stories.

Who Is Starring in the Elden Ring Movie?

Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, and Cailee Spaeny are set to lead the cast. George R.R. Martin, whose work helped shape the lore behind FromSoftware’s game, is also attached as a producer.

Garland has a personal connection to the source material as well. He has spoken about playing Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree, including reaching New Game Plus 6.

What Happens Next for the Elden Ring Movie?

This milestone does not mean the entire project is finished. The update specifically concerns the art and props work, while the movie still has post-production ahead. Editing, sound, music, and visual effects will all play a role in shaping the final version of the Lands Between.

A release date of March 3, 2028 has been attached to the film. That gives A24 and Garland plenty of time to complete the remaining work before the adaptation reaches theaters.

The production’s focus on physical sets and props offers an early sign of how the team approached the source material, although the finished movie will ultimately reveal how closely that work translates to the screen.
