Coming to PS5 this Friday, October 20, Spider-Man 2 by Insomniac Games has already garnered positive reviews from critics. The game, however, will not stop evolving after its initial release. James Stevenson, the Director of Community and Marketing at Insomniac Games, confirmed that the company plans to roll out a post-launch update introducing a New Game Plus mode and a mission replay feature.
Stevenson shared the news through a Twitter response, stating, “We’re working on an update for those features but they won’t be in Day 1.” He further clarified that players can expect these additions “before the end of the year.”

For those planning to buy a physical copy of the game, Insomniac has recommended downloading a launch day update. While the disc-based version will work fine without the patch, downloading the update is advised to benefit from notable improvements. According to the studio, this patch will refine the game’s opening sections and add general improvements, including some new Accessibility Options.
Spider-Man 2 will also be part of a bundle with the upcoming PS5 Slim console, set to launch next month in the US. This provides an additional option for those looking to get both the game and the new console version.
