Anticipation continues to grow for the October release of Insomniac Games‘ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, yet fans hoping to taste the action before launch will be disappointed. The developer confirmed on June 17, 2023, that there are no plans for a demo version of the game.
The official announcement came in response to a fan query on Twitter. The user, symbiote Spider-Hog, asked the studio if it planned to drop a demo of Spider-Man 2 on the PlayStation Store. Insomniac Games responded concisely, stating, “no plans for a demo!”

While things could change between now and the game’s release, fans should not get their hopes up. Given Insomniac’s past success with the first Marvel Spider-Man game and its spin-off, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, it seems unlikely that the studio needs to offer a demo for the sequel.
Given the popularity of its predecessor, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year. Insomniac Games has been teasing fans with gameplay footage, but without a demo, fans, and critics will have to rely on these previews and eventual review scores to estimate the game’s quality ahead of its October 20, 2023 release.
