UPDATE: FiveM won’t be discontinued in the near future

Update: The initial tweet by FiveM might not be trustworthy. Their Twitter Profile might have been hacked and we’re waiting for further confirmation to see what exactly is going on. So far, there’s no official response either. The official Twitter profile of FiveM has not been hacked according to the author. The Twitter profile has been restored and the crude tweets have been deleted. Furthermore, the owner has stated the following. According to the information in the latest tweet, working on FiveM has been hard for the developers, especially due to the ever-increasing workload, which is proving difficult for the developer to focus on the project. Simply said, someone might have turned rogue, and it’s due to the very same reason mentioned before. The whole team is looking for a way to help them and alleviate the burden they carry.

For what it's worth: we're not shutting down, nor were we hacked.

With the ever-increasing workload, however, it's again proving difficult for our dev lead to work on the project, eventually leading to 'this'.

Our team is still looking for ways to help them with this burden.

Previous Writing:

The Creators of FiveM have recently tweeted that the notorious multiplayer modding framework for GTA might face discontinuation very soon. Without further explanation, “FiveM is likely to be discontinued shortly”, as per the most recent tweet by Cfx.re/FiveM. It is somewhat weird to see the initial tweet without a thorough explanation, which could be an indicator of a potentially hacked Twitter account.

For those unfamiliar, FiveM is a modification for Grand Theft Auto V enabling you to play multiplayer on customized dedicated servers, powered by Cfx.re. Some of the most notorious whitelist servers such as NoPixel, run on the third-party multiplayer modding system, FiveM. If this occurs, what would continue the legacy of such servers?

Shortly after the discontinuation announcement, the creator has posted something weird, pointing to a Russian modding website, which could be another indicator of a hacked profile. A really weird and uncommon occurrence. Nevertheless, we’ll have to wait and see if the developer would remove the messages or not because it would be really weird to see the FiveM stopping its services.

Fans and players using the tools are saddened to see the modding framework gone, as they have expressed their honest feelings in response.
