Ubisoft may rename the long-awaited title and next in the Rainbow Six franchise, Quarantine. Rainbow Six: Quarantine, as per Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot, might be renamed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rainbow Six Quarantine is supposed to be a three-player tactical co-op shooter wet in the future. Players need to enter a quarantine zone where a mutated alien would provoke an obstruction of further exploration.
As discovered by IGN, Rainbow Six Quarantine was addressed in Ubisoft’s third-quarter earnings call. Yves Guillemot was asked if the company is concerned regarding the game’s name containing “quarantine.” In his response:
On Rainbow Six: Quarantine, we are creating a product that is actually – as it’s named today – it is something we are evaluating and we’ll see what comes in the future on that product.
It’s quite ambiguous to go over this question because having quarantine on the title is not as impactful to players’ eyes and may indeed bring a more significant player base. After all, it’s a game we’re talking about, something that shouldn’t be compared with reality.
