Apex Legends Bans 906 Accounts Over Rookie Rank Exploit
The exploit let players enter Ranked as Rookie IV, and the team removed more than 15 million RP gained through abuse.

Apex Legends has banned 906 accounts after a Ranked exploit let players enter matches as Rookie IV regardless of their actual rank, primarily on PlayStation 5. The November 4 anti-cheat update says the exploit has been fixed and 15,112,554 RP has been deducted.
By entering at Rookie IV, affected accounts avoided Ranked entry costs, received Rookie-tier kill bonuses and had their Matchmaking Rating (MMR) recorded as 0. RP earned in those matches still counted toward their actual Ranked score, letting players progress while bypassing normal matchmaking and entry requirements.
Suspension lengths depended on how much RP players gained through the exploit. The update says 731 accounts received 120-day bans for gaining about 4,999 RP, 107 received 240-day bans for 5,000 to 9,999 RP, and 67 received 365-day bans for 10,000 or more RP. Those three figures add up to 905, one fewer than the stated total of 906 accounts.
The platform totals do add up to 906: 848 PlayStation accounts, 44 Xbox accounts, 12 PC accounts and 2 Nintendo Switch 2 accounts. Respawn also says its investigation separated unintended interactions from deliberate abuse, and that accounts involved unintentionally were not actioned.
A separate October 26 fix addressed a Ranked entry-cost bypass. The Rookie IV exploit went further by affecting rank and MMR while still crediting RP earned in the match.
