Sony’s PS5 system software version 26.07-14.22.00 is available to download as of Nov. 2, with a 1.267 GB file. The official system software notes list security fixes as the update’s only change. It follows another PS5 update from less than two weeks earlier.
The release arrives amid a recent rise in PS5 jailbreak activity. Jailbreaks can allow modified consoles to run emulators and pirated software, but Sony’s brief note does not say whether the fixes address a particular technique.

- We’ve made some security fixes to the system software.
With Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled to launch on PS5 on Nov. 19, a version number in the latest firmware has prompted a question about the game’s minimum system software. PlaystationSize claimed in October that GTA 6 would require at least PS5 update 14.10. After the new release, the account paired promotional art with the caption “14.22.”

The post does not confirm a requirement. Sony’s patch notes do not mention GTA 6, and the version number alone does not establish which firmware the game will need.
