Puckoff: Reloaded is now available on Xbox Series X|S, bringing a no-rules take on hockey where scoring is only one way to make an impact. The five-person Finnish team behind the game traces its loose, chaotic style to childhood games on frozen rinks in its Xbox Wire account of the game’s design.
Players can score, set up a teammate, make a pass, or knock an opponent out. Fighting is part of the sport and its underground culture here, not a separate diversion from the matches.
Between games, a visual-novel-style presentation follows the player character’s search for Dominator, an underground hockey legend who has played for decades without losing. The goal is to find him and eventually play alongside him, earning a place in the scene along the way.
That path leads to the Cage, where boss matches pit players against distinctive opponents with their own abilities and playstyles. These encounters replace the usual focus on outscoring another team with character-specific challenges.
