The public beta for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024’s Sim Update 7.2 now has 2 builds. Version 1.9.23.0 arrived Oct. 28, after the initial 1.9.22.0 build on Oct. 23. Microsoft’s Oct. 29 weekly briefing says both builds are available to players who opt into testing.
Sim Update 7.1 reached its final version on Oct. 23, fixing several issues introduced with SU7, including a bug that reduced aircraft drag. Its earlier beta had added Time Trials for the National Championship Air Races and addressed an aircraft-drag error.
A separate beta is underway for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020). Sim Update 17’s first pre-release build, version 1.40.1.0, began testing on PC and Xbox Series X|S on Oct. 26.
The National Championship Air Races will also host a creator exhibition on Oct. 30 at 1800 UTC, replacing this week’s Community Fly-In Friday. Community Manager Chewwy94 is scheduled to race AvAngel, Cow Town, Twotonemurphy, Ultrasaurus, and Wombii across 5 classes: Biplane, Jet, STOL Drag, T-6, and Unlimited.
