Terrible Lizards will launch on PlayStation on Oct. 29, 2026. WDR Studios’ PlayStation Blog breakdown describes a first-person platformer that puts fast parkour inside a roadside dinosaur attraction, turning familiar prehistoric kitsch into horror.
Movement is built around momentum instead of a run-up before every jump. The developers say players move at a fixed maximum speed whenever they can move and jump, with aerial control to correct an overjump or steer from side to side. Runs, slides, wall-runs, bounces and ledge grabs give players ways to carry that motion through each space, while tools can alter levels and their environments.
The story takes place in the early 1990s. A college student on a road trip west along Route 66 heads into Dalton’s Dinos for help after their car breaks down, only to find something dangerous. The setting draws on roadside attractions known for oversized dinosaur statues, makeshift prehistoric tours and dubious fossil claims, then gives that nostalgia a horror twist.
WDR Studios says most of the team are first-time game developers from online creator backgrounds. The studio also draws on the name “Terrible Lizards,” the literal meaning of “dinosaur,” to connect childhood fascination with the creatures to their frightening side.
