EA SPORTS FC 27 v1.1 Will Rework Career Menus and Add Rivalry Objectives
Scheduled for October 27, the update will also shorten most high-OVR FUT pack reveals and preserve Streamlined SBC filters across challenges, with no gameplay balance or tuning changes.

EA SPORTS FC 27 Title Update v1.1 is scheduled to arrive on October 27, bringing a redesigned Team Management layout, more Career Mode controls, and two new Player Career Rivalry objectives. EA’s v1.1 Pitch Notes also outline FUT and The Grounds fixes, while confirming that the update will not change gameplay balance or tuning.
Career Mode adds more control and clearer negotiations
The Team Management layout is being overhauled across multiple modes for easier navigation and readability. Career saves will also gain settings to toggle Unexpected Events and Press Conferences or adjust how often they occur. Players can change those options when creating a Career or within an existing save. EA had previously flagged visual changes in its Career Mode Developer Launch Update.
Player Career adds two Rivalry objective types. Consistency Rivalries ask players not to be the first to fail an objective, while Match Limit Rivalries require completing objectives within a set time limit.
Manager Career negotiations will give clearer responses explaining why a club or player rejected an offer. Wage demands will account for performance bonuses, reducing inflated base-wage requests when bonuses are offered. Veteran players will also be less likely to demand crucial squad roles disproportionately. These changes follow version 1.0.4’s Career Mode fixes, which adjusted responses to bids far above a club’s requested price and addressed problems signing free agents outside an active transfer window.
Other Career changes improve the contrast behind green, gray, and red stat values in Player Profiles, reveal PlayStyles for Youth Academy prospects found on Scouting Missions, and correct Scout capacity calculations. The maximum number of players scouted at once will depend on Experience rather than Judgement. Promoting a prospect from the Youth Squad Hub will also keep the current menu position instead of sending players to the Squad Hub.
One transfer issue remains under investigation. Players can still request transfers over playing time even when their expectations are being met. EA says it is testing a fix and aims to include it in a future update.
The Grounds and Gameplay changes focus on bugs
The Grounds fixes address camera rotation when the ball passes the byline, end-of-match text overlapping the Kickabout screen, and ratings below 6.0 failing to appear. The post-match “Player has left the activity” overlay will be less disruptive. EA is also fixing crashes and stability problems when entering the Store, loading into the world, or playing, along with cases involving two active goalkeepers in Clubs Live Events.
Other fixes cover party members getting an incorrect HUD when the party leader leaves a matchmaking queue, trouble returning to the Objectives tab after opening it from the Live Events lobby, and max-level Archetypes displaying a match rating of 0. The Clubs tournament bracket will no longer declare a winner immediately after a semifinal.
Gameplay receives bug fixes rather than balance adjustments. They cover players becoming stuck in the tutorial, 2v2 players getting trapped in the goal net after slide tackles near the goal line, and 1v1 goalkeepers holding the ball too long after a pass request. In 3v3 Kickabouts, a long-press pass will no longer sometimes send the ball into the player’s own goal. Post-play cutscenes will also appear less often when a regular replay should play instead.
EA plans to publish another set of Gameplay Developer Notes later this week, covering observations from FC 27’s first month of live play and possible adjustments for a later Title Update. The team says those changes will draw on player data, feedback, and testing with player representatives on its Design Council.
FUT adjusts pack reveals and SBC filters
Pack reveal animations will be shorter for most higher-OVR items. Streamlined SBCs will remember filter and sorting settings across challenges during a play session, resetting them only when the game closes.
FUT also gets visual fixes. Referee kit colors will avoid clashing with either team’s kits, and matches will no longer substitute an opponent’s custom pitch-line color when a player has not selected one or replace the player’s default goal-net color with the opponent’s custom setting.
The Pitch Notes cover selected changes, not the complete changelog. EA says the full v1.1 Patch Notes will be published on October 27.
