Gray Zone Warfare CEO Says Criticism Is Welcome, Abuse Is Not
Marek Rabas says direct feedback on broken or frustrating features helps the team, as frustration builds around the Rogue Ops soft wipe.

Gray Zone Warfare CEO Marek Rabas wants players to keep pressing MADFINGER Games on problems, but not treat abuse as a normal part of game development. In a letter to the game’s subreddit, he said direct feedback on broken or frustrating features helps the team improve, while attacks on developers cross a line.

Rabas said he had spent recent days reading conversations across Reddit, Discord, and MADFINGER’s forums since the 0.5 Supporter Preview began. He said the studio aims to communicate openly rather than rely on canned public-relations replies, and welcomes even forceful criticism when it points to problems that need work.
His warning was about how criticism gets expressed and amplified. Rabas argued that sweeping, emotional complaints about numbers still needing tuning can make the entire game look like a failure, potentially scaring away players and harming the community. He also rejected the idea that developers should simply accept abuse as part of the job, calling instead for constructive discussion and mutual respect.
The conversation is unfolding as complaints about Gray Zone Warfare’s unfinished state and upcoming progress reset have fed recent Steam review-bombing. Rogue Ops is scheduled for October 22, and its soft wipe will clear locker contents and cash while preserving completed tasks, rank, unlocked apparel, vendor levels, and statistics.
