League of Legends’ Mel Rework Will Remove Her Projectile Reflection
Patch 26.22 is scheduled for November 4, with changes to Mel's passive, Q, W, E, and ultimate.

Mel’s W will no longer reflect enemy projectiles when her League of Legends midscope update arrives with Patch 26.22 on November 4, 2026. Rebuttal will still destroy incoming projectiles, while the redesigned ability will shield Mel and her nearby allies and grant them movement speed.
Mel’s getting a Midscope update and we’re here to explain what’s changing with The Soul’s Reflection and why.

An October 20 PBE datamine adds figures for the planned changes. Its author noted that the PBE was not playable during compilation, so these values and mechanics are provisional and may change.

Mel’s base health would fall from 630 to 590, and her base attack damage from 54 to 52. Health growth would rise from 99 to 107, attack-speed growth from 2.5 to 2.75, and armor growth from 5.2 to 5.4. Base mana would drop from 480 to 455, while mana growth would increase from 28 to 38. Her passive’s base damage would change from 8-30 to 4-30, with its minion modifier increasing from 50% to 55%. The announced changes also reduce the passive’s early duration and move some of Mel’s durability into health and armor growth.
Radiant Volley (Q) would travel more slowly, deal less damage on its first explosion, and put more damage into later hits. The first hit would deal 60 magic damage plus 25% AP, with later hits dealing 5-25 damage plus 8% AP. Hitting a champion at least once would refund 0.5-1 second of the cooldown. The explosion radius would shrink from 225 to 200, missile speed from 3,800 to 3,200, and mana cost from 70-90 to 65-80.

Passive:
• Reduced early game damage and duration.
• Increased scaling health and armor.Q:
• Slightly slower.
• Less damage on the initial explosion, with more damage shifted to subsequent hits.
• Refunds a flat amount of its cooldown… pic.twitter.com/a5w8fj3tkf— League of Legends Leaks & News (@LeagueOfLeaks) October 20, 2026
Rebuttal would become a refraction nova that destroys enemy projectiles it collides with within 400 units. It would retaliate for 35-55 magic damage plus 10% AP, then deal 5-25 damage plus 5% AP on later retaliations against the same enemy, up to seven times per enemy. The nova would shield Mel and her allies for 50-170 plus 50% AP and grant 10-30% movement speed, with another 4% per 100 AP, for two seconds. Its cooldown would change from 38-26 seconds to 30-24, and its mana cost from 80-40 to 100-50. It would also have no cast time.
Solar Snare (E) would root enemies for 0.8-1 second, with the duration scaling by rank and travel time up to 1.6-2.2 seconds. Its slow would change from 30% to 20-40%, and its mana cost from 50-90 to 40-80. Golden Eclipse’s cooldown would change from 120/100/80 seconds to 120/90/60, giving it more cooldown reduction at higher ranks.
The cooldown changes are intended to help Mel build more Searing Brilliance passive stacks across multiple opponents, giving her more chances to use her ultimate’s payoff. The midscope follows January’s Patch 26.03 PBE adjustments, which removed W’s damage immunity and introduced an AP-scaling shield. Riot’s developer update says Mel’s abilities had become difficult to balance. Moving Golden Eclipse to a basic ability was considered, but reducing its power would weaken a core part of her combat pattern.
