Fortnite Sprites May Leave When Chapter 8 Arrives in December
Blortzen says in-game files point to Sprite and extraction features remaining for the mini-season that begins November 1.

Fortnite’s Sprite system may not survive the move to Chapter 8 in December. Leaker Blortzen says in-game files indicate the Sprite and extraction features will remain for the Chapter 7 mini-season starting November 1, before almost all extraction files, including core functions, are removed for the new chapter. Epic Games has not confirmed the change.
SEEMS LIKE SPRITES WILL BE GONE FOR CHAPTER 8 💡🥹
It seems like the extraction & Sprites features will stay for next season and then leave for CH8!

Epic introduced Sprites in Chapter 7 as collectible items with different effects and rarities. The company had confirmed they would continue into Chapter 7 Season 4, with new powers, variants, and a Sprite Garden, as Sprites carried into Chapter 7 Season 4.
Blortzen’s interpretation of the files points to the current system ending with Chapter 7, not necessarily to Sprites disappearing from Fortnite for good. The leaker’s post does not rule out a later return or a new version of the feature.
