Escape From Tarkov “Hypotheses Testing” Quest Guide

Locate the prototype weapon area in The Labyrinth and hand over five found-in-raid research notes.

Hypotheses Testing sends you into The Labyrinth to locate the prototype weapon area, then asks you to hand over five found-in-raid Labrys research notes. Mechanic supplies a single-use Labrys access keycard as initial equipment, so the required trip is not an open-ended invitation to wander.

Requirements and objectives

The previous quest is Offensive Reconnaissance. Complete both objectives:

  1. Locate the lab area containing the prototype weapon inside The Labyrinth.
  2. Hand over 5 Labrys research notes with found-in-raid status.

Needed equipment

Item Amount Use
Labrys access keycard 1 Allows one-time access to The Labyrinth. It is included in the quest’s initial equipment.
Labrys research notes 5 Handover items. All five must have found-in-raid status.

How to complete Hypotheses Testing

  1. Use the Labrys access keycard to enter The Labyrinth.
  2. Locate the lab area with the prototype weapon.
  3. Hand over five found-in-raid Labrys research notes to Mechanic.

Where to find the prototype area and research notes

Labyrinth floor plan highlighting the prototype area in the upper section of the central missile hall for Hypotheses Testing.
The prototype area in the upper part of the Labyrinth’s central chamber.

Look in the large central chamber of The Labyrinth. The prototype weapon section is in its northern part, just north of the large X marking on the floor. Check that the location objective registers before moving on.

Research-note positions in this area include the package and pallet near the whiteboard, missile casings on the blue shelving, the space beneath the welding machine, the table beside the laptop and an opened panel on the central missile part. Check the individual positions rather than expecting all five required notes in one pile.

The observation room, Shadow of Tagilla and Vengeful Killa are also listed sources of Labrys research notes. Keep the found-in-raid requirement in mind when collecting the five copies for Mechanic.
