Apex Legends Will Default to Cross-Play for Console Players in US-West on Oct. 7
The matchmaking test will run through Nov. 3, and console players can opt out by turning off cross-play in settings.

Apex Legends will make cross-play the default for console players in US-West servers during a matchmaking test beginning Oct. 7 at approximately 10 a.m. PT. Respawn says in its Oct. 6 Steam update notice that the test aims to shorten queue times and tighten matchmaking skill bands. It is scheduled to run through the season’s end on Nov. 3.
Console players can opt out by turning off cross-play in the settings menu. The update also fixes missing floor geometry in Broken Moon’s Terraformer area, which allowed players to clip into the ground, and an issue that caused Gibraltar’s skydive emote audio to continue after landing.
