World of Warcraft’s Ula’tek Nerfs Will Target Stages 2 and 3 on Oct. 6
The scheduled tuning will cut several damage and health values, and Mythic Caustic Waves will shrink from 7 waves to 3.

Ula’tek is scheduled to receive a broad raid nerf pass during weekly maintenance on October 6 in this region. The adjustments cover the final boss of The Venomous Abyss, with changes to stages 2 and 3 and a general adjustment detailed in Blizzard’s official tuning notice.
Stage 2 will have less pressure from Warden’s Protection, whose damage is being reduced by 80%, and fewer ground targets during Virulent Spit. On Heroic and Mythic, Grasping Fangs will deal 30% less periodic damage, while Blight Vein’s duration will fall from 6 seconds to 4.
Stage 3 also gets several direct reductions. Blightscale Shrieker and Blightscale Clutch will each have 20% less health on Heroic and Mythic, while Slithering Clutch will have 20% less health on Mythic. Circling Prey’s raid damage will be cut by 30% on both difficulties, and Mythic Toxic Burn will also deal 30% less damage.
Two mechanics are getting simpler numerical targets. Serpent’s Bite will no longer require more than 3 players to soak, regardless of raid size. On Mythic, Caustic Waves will send out 3 waves from a tail instead of 7. A previous fix for Unnerving Fixation’s tank targeting also addressed an issue in The Coiled Altar.
