War Thunder Banned 3,984 Accounts in Its September Fair Play Update

The report also lists 661 temporary bans tied to an event score exploit and 397 bans for teamkilling or griefing.

Gaijin Entertainment banned 3,984 War Thunder accounts for bot use or cheat software, according to its September 2026 Fair Play update, published Oct. 1, 2026. The bans cited paragraph 3.2.3 of the game’s EULA, which prohibits automating gameplay and using cheat software.

Gaijin also issued 661 temporary bans under the same EULA paragraph for intentionally exploiting a bug that allowed players to earn excessive mission score in Air Simulator Battles during the Space Program Event. The report separately lists 397 accounts banned for a week or longer for intentional teamkilling and griefing, including 13 permanent bans.

The figures cover actions since the previous Fair Play update, which Gaijin published in July 2026. Gaijin says the full list of permanently banned players will remain available for two weeks after the report’s publication.

Players can find instructions for submitting reports and details on how the anti-cheat system works on the War Thunder wiki. Gaijin also recommends using a strong password and enabling two-step authentication on the account. Available options include email, SMS, and TOTP through Gaijin Pass or Google Authenticator.

The team advises players to enable two-step authentication on the email linked to their Gaijin account, avoid prohibited client modifications, and never share their account details.
