EA Javelin Anticheat is now live in Apex Legends on PC, completing the migration that was scheduled for September 29. The latest Steam update asks players to update the game before their next match and warns that some users are seeing errors as their systems transition.
September 29’s change covers the PC anti-cheat layer. Earlier details on the PC anti-cheat migration said Apex Legends would not require Secure Boot for the move, while console protection would continue through separate detection methods.
EA says the new system gives its anti-cheat teams a wider view of new threats and more room to adjust detection as cheating changes. The company directs players to its Javelin Anticheat announcement for more background on the change.
Some transition errors remain under investigation. The update says work is underway and that the team hopes to resolve the issue soon, but it does not provide a specific fix time.
