Marvel’s Wolverine Patch 1.001.006 Lets PS5 Players Hide Collectible Trails
The hotfix adds toggles for Scent Trails, Audio Clues, and Nightmare Roots while fixing community-reported crashes and bugs.

Marvel’s Wolverine received PS5 patch 1.001.006 on September 25, giving players a way to remove the collectible guidance that appears during Logan’s adventure. The new settings options cover scent trails, audio clues, and the purple roots connected to Nightmare Doors.
What Patch 1.001.006 changes
Turning off the new collectible indicators removes the purple roots that appear near a Nightmare Door, the audio alerts tied to Material Crates, and the scent trail that leads to Whisky Bottles. Story-related scent trails will still appear, so the change targets optional collectible assistance rather than Logan’s entire sensory system.
Insomniac Games also said the hotfix addresses community-reported crashes and bugs. The developer’s official support notes document those stability fixes. The new controls are available through the pause menu, giving players a cleaner way to search each area without constant prompts pointing toward nearby rewards.
Insomniac outlined the hotfix with the following post:
Today, we deployed a hotfix for Marvel’s Wolverine that includes new toggles for Scent Trails, Audio Clues, and Nightmare Roots, along with fixes for community-reported crashes and bugs.

An earlier Wolverine update, hotfix v1.001.005, reduced the intensity of the Scent Trails and Audio Sense indicators on September 19. The visual effect had drawn criticism from players who felt the strong cyan stream looked more like gas than a representation of Logan tracking a smell. Patch 1.001.006 goes further by letting players remove the collectible cues altogether.
The change also affects trophy cleanup. Marvel’s Wolverine’s 42-trophy lineup includes requirements to collect every Material Crate and Whisky Bottle and discover all Nightmare Doors, so players chasing the Platinum can now choose how much guidance they want during that process.
