Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 Will Let Players Hide Operators From Older Games

The toggle will be off by default, while weapons, skins, Blueprints, and Camos from recent games will remain available.

Call of Duty: Warzone will give players more control over how other Operators appear when Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 begins. Activision detailed the change in its official Warzone announcement, confirming that a new Operator Skin toggle will replace Operators from older Call of Duty games with Modern Warfare 4 Operators on the player’s screen.

The toggle will be off by default. When enabled, it will show a Modern Warfare 4 Operator in place of any Operator or Operator Skin from another Call of Duty title, including Black Ops 6. The change applies to enemies, party members, and squadmates in both the lobby and matches.

How the Operator Skin toggle works

  • Other players: Operators from older Call of Duty games will appear as Modern Warfare 4 Operators when the toggle is on.
  • Your own Operator: Your selected Operator will remain visible, even if it comes from another Call of Duty game.
  • Visibility: The setting only changes what you see. It does not alter the experience for anyone else in the match.

Activision is keeping the wider Operator collection intact. Skins, Blueprints, and Camos from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6, and Black Ops 7 will remain available in Warzone, including items players earned or purchased. Existing Carry Forward plans will not change with Season 1.

Legacy weapons will remain in Warzone

Weapons from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 will remain accessible through the Legacy tab in the Warzone Loadout menu. Gunsmith functionality and previous Custom Loadouts will not be supported for legacy weapons or legacy Blueprints, but those weapons will not be reduced to attachment-free versions.

Each legacy base weapon will have a five-attachment version available, while legacy Blueprints will keep their existing attachment setups. Raven Software also plans to continue balancing weapons every two weeks, with the goal of keeping the Modern Warfare 4 lineup at the center of the weapon meta while preserving older choices.
