Once Human Will Improve Beast Whistle Commands in 3 Future Updates
The September 28 (PT) version update will let one whistle command multiple animals and correct a display error affecting Beastmaster animal loads.

Once Human‘s Beastmaster rework changed the Beast Whistle from a summoning tool into a command tool, leaving players confused when the whistle stopped calling animals. The development team clarified the new rules and outlined three scheduled version updates in a Steam announcement.
Before the September 16 (PT) class update, Beastmasters raised animals in their territory, bound a specific animal to a whistle, and then used that whistle in the wild. The new system has Beastmasters carry the corresponding animal and use its animal item to summon it. Once summoned, the Beast Whistle issues commands for combat, gathering, and other field activities.
The original three whistles have also been combined into one. The former Red Beast Whistle was renamed Beast Whistle and retained, while the other two whistle types were not automatically recalled. Beastmasters can use those older whistles to convert them into the new Beast Whistle.

Three dates for the Beast Whistle fixes
On September 28 (PT), the version update will allow one Beast Whistle to command multiple animals at the same time. The three-animal summon limit will also arrive with that update, while the team continues tuning how summoned animals respond to commands.
The same September 28 update will correct the displayed carry load for animals handled by Beastmasters. The weight-reduction effect is already working, but item details can show the wrong number. A Bear, for example, has an actual load value of 10.5 while its details can still display 35.
Another Beastmaster issue involves the Nimble trait. After testing, the team found that its current effect does not match the intended result. The underlying problem has been difficult to identify and resolve, so the fix is planned for the October 21 (PT) version update.
Command input will receive another change on November 4 (PT). When carrying a Beast Whistle, Beastmasters will be able to use the tag button to issue commands directly. The default controls are the Middle Mouse Button on PC, the Tag button on mobile, and a double-tap of Up on the controller D-pad.
