Grand Theft Auto V now has a chaotic new way to cross Los Santos. The Crazy Taxi Mod adds yellow cabs, timed passenger runs, and enough traffic trouble to make every fare feel like a race against the city itself.
A PC Gamer hands-on look at the mod found that the setup starts at yellow circles around Los Santos. Approaching one prompts the player to press H, after which the game offers a selection of taxis and teleports the chosen vehicle to the player.
Choosing quickly is part of the challenge. Cars can immediately speed away from the selection screen, crash into buildings, or explode before they are ready for work. The mod’s taxi options are all yellow, giving Los Santos a familiar Crazy Taxi look even when the vehicles are behaving more like runaway missiles.
Once a fare begins, the objective is straightforward. Pick up passengers, deliver them to their destinations, and keep the countdown alive. Successful pickups add time, so fast routes and frequent drop-offs can turn a shrinking timer into one that keeps growing.
Los Santos is not exactly built for dependable public transportation, though. Passengers can be scared away by the city’s gang violence, struck by passing traffic, or shot by nearby bodyguards before they reach the cab. Some fares simply refuse to get inside, leaving the driver parked beside the road with a large yellow taxi and no customer to transport.
The Crazy Taxi Mod gives PC players a compact arcade-style activity inside GTA V without removing the game’s usual mayhem. It is a familiar formula, but the surrounding chaos creates plenty of problems that a normal taxi game would never need to account for.
