Dying Light: The Beast’s Week 1 Event Begins September 21 With a 50,000,000-Kill Goal
Slashing improves brutal dismemberment odds and brings more firearm enemies, while blunt weapons make ragdoll knockdowns more common at the cost of heavier fall damage.

Week 1 of Call of the Beast: Anniversary Edition begins September 21 in Dying Light: The Beast, sending players into Castor Woods with a shared target of 50,000,000 kills. The event also asks the community to lean into one of two weapon styles, with that choice determining the weekend modifier.
Slashing greatly raises the chance of brutal dismemberment, but it also brings far more firearm-wielding enemies into the fight. Blunt weapons make it much easier to knock enemies into ragdoll on hit, while increasing the fall damage players take. One path changes the pressure coming from enemies, and the other makes every bad landing more dangerous.
Week 1 opens the game’s three-week anniversary run, with Crane’s Anniversary Drops running alongside the community event as a separate reward calendar. Players can keep building the kill total in Castor Woods while their preferred combat style helps decide what happens during the weekend.
Techland’s Steam announcement encourages players to stack kills throughout Week 1 and let their playstyle determine which modifier activates. The event’s main choice is clear, but neither option comes without a catch.
