World of Warcraft’s Wrath of the Lich King Remix Is Coming in Summer 2027

Blizzard's 2026-2027 roadmap places the event in summer 2027, but does not provide a specific date or Wrath-specific gameplay details.

World of Warcraft will return to Northrend in summer 2027 through a new Wrath of the Lich King Remix event. Blizzard has confirmed the expansion that will receive the Remix treatment, although nearly every other detail remains under wraps.

Blizzard’s 2026-2027 roadmap for World of Warcraft: Midnight places Wrath Remix alongside the game’s next year of seasonal content. The plan uses broad windows rather than exact launch dates, with patches, a new season, and The Last Titan expansion reveal filling out the schedule around the returning event.

What Blizzard has confirmed about Wrath Remix

For now, summer 2027 is the only timing information available for the event. Blizzard has not announced a specific start date, the event’s gameplay changes, or the rewards that players will be able to earn.

Previous Remix events have allowed players to revisit older expansions with faster progression and new reward opportunities. The format gives familiar content a different rhythm, but the exact systems that will define Wrath of the Lich King Remix have not been revealed.

Midnight roadmap fills in the year

Autumn will bring patches 12.1.5 and 12.1.7. Patch 12.1.5 is scheduled to add Labyrinths, a new campaign, a mini-raid, and Aqir Invasions, while patch 12.1.7 will continue the story with new quests, Thrall Lorewalking, and Turbulent Timeways.

Patch 12.2 will begin Season 3 during the winter window. The update will add another round of story content and quests, along with a new zone, dungeon, and raid.

Spring will combine patch 12.2.5 with the planned reveal of The Last Titan. The patch is set to add a new world event, more story and quests, and transmog updates. Blizzard has not provided further details about the expansion itself.

Patch 12.2.7 will continue Midnight in summer with new story and quests, profession updates, and other additions. Wrath Remix is scheduled for the same broad window, giving the roadmap a returning-event focus alongside the patch content.

Northrend will return in The Last Titan

The timing also gives Northrend another place in World of Warcraft‘s future. The Last Titan is planned to return players to the continent as part of the conclusion to the Worldsoul Saga. Blizzard has not said whether the Remix event will connect directly to that story, so the two projects currently share a setting rather than a confirmed crossover.

More information will be needed before players know which parts of Wrath will receive the biggest changes. For now, the destination is clear, and Northrend is coming back to the calendar sooner than many expected.
