Enlisted’s Upcoming Major Update Will Make Hits More Graphic and Explosions More Physical
The update will add bouncing shell casings, ricochets from destroyed vehicles, new audio for severe infantry hits, and visible aircraft wingtip vortices.

Enlisted‘s next major update will make the battlefield react harder to gunfire and explosions. Darkflow Software is revising hit and blast effects, adding new audio, and improving physics for details such as ejected casings and soldiers caught in blast waves, according to the developer’s Steam announcement. An earlier developer SITREP had already outlined other parts of the same major update, including melee reworks, shader caching, Battle Rating queues, and balance changes, in the earlier developer SITREP.
A preview video accompanies the changes.
Large-caliber hits will look more severe
Infantry will see some of the most graphic changes. Hits from large-caliber weapons may blow apart heads, while torn limbs will trigger a new sound effect. Blood will also blend more naturally into uniforms instead of stopping at a sharp border between stained and clean fabric.
Artillery and tank shell explosions will throw soldiers’ bodies through the air, giving blasts a stronger physical response. The update will also improve the way spent shell casings behave on high graphics settings, where players will be able to enable physics that make casings bounce off surfaces more naturally.
Vehicle wrecks and aircraft get new effects
Destroyed vehicles will remain part of the action after they become wrecks. Bullets and shells will be able to ricochet off their hulks, adding another reaction to firefights around disabled armor.
Aircraft flying at high angles of attack will also produce visible wingtip vortices. Combined with the revised explosion effects and improved sound work, the changes should make combat feedback easier to read while giving the battlefield more movement after each hit.
