STALCRAFT: X’s Core Team Shares Plans for Detector Rework and New Signal Dungeons

The first developer diary also covers open-world improvements, bug sprints, and a long-term review of the game's core mechanics.

The first STALCRAFT: X developer diary gives players an early look at the Core Team’s work on detectors, dungeons, bug fixes, and the game’s wider systems. The team introduced the diary in a Steam announcement focused on its current projects and long-term plans.

Developer lunev, the Core Team manager, explained that the group handles development and support for STALZONE’s core gameplay loop and the mechanics connected to it. The team is also reviewing the open world by breaking down its mechanics, identifying problems through analysis, and preparing future fixes.

Detector reworks and new signal dungeons

A future update will rework how players interact with wide-range detectors. The devices will receive their own functional 3D models, which players will be able to interact with directly.

Work is also underway on two new signal dungeons. The Core Team is aiming for exploration-focused experiences with replay value, although the diary notes that some elements may change before release.

Bug sprints and long-term mechanics work

Bug sprints are targeting smaller issues that can still cause major frustration, including signals and pulps spawning in unreachable places. These fixes are part of the team’s ongoing effort to make the game’s systems more consistent.

Beyond individual bugs, the team is carrying out a complex review of its area of work to find problematic parts of mechanics and activities. Adjustments will be introduced gradually, and in-game surveys will help the developers understand which activities players prefer and why.
