Sony’s two September 2026 State of Play events brought a new batch of trailers for games that will also come to PC. Daba: Land of Water Scar, CONQ, Crown Of No Quarter, Maneater 2, WPCA: World Phasebound Control Authority, Gundam Rogue Orbit, and Final Fantasy Resonance provided the clearest mix of dark fantasy, action, science fiction, and very large aquatic predators. The trailers came from the two back-to-back PlayStation broadcasts scheduled for September 3, 2026, which were announced in PlayStation’s September 3 broadcast announcement.
Daba and CONQ take different routes through dark fantasy
First revealed in 2023, Daba: Land of Water Scar returned with a new trailer after appearing only intermittently through gameplay footage and other presentations. The game is part of PlayStation’s China Hero Project, a mentoring and support initiative for developers based in China that aims to help participating games reach audiences worldwide.
Players take control of a clay puppet that has become human. The journey crosses ruined snowfields and desolate deserts after the world’s waters dry up, while the shattered souls of fallen gods descend from the sky and a plague spreads through the shadows.
Under an ancient mask, the protagonist carries twin blades and is pulled into missions shaped by competing ambitions and attempts to control their fate. A figure bound to that destiny waits at the end of the road, while the larger goal is to seize the remaining water and reforge a divine soul.
Combat leans into Soulslike elements, with encounters appearing throughout the journey. The trailer presents a harsh world built around survival, ruined gods, and a protagonist trying to reclaim control of a fate imposed on them.
CONQ, Crown Of No Quarter made its world debut with a much harsher kind of fantasy. Its premise sends players from a promised heaven into an eternal purgatory, where escape and death are both out of reach. The trailer points to a campaign built around gathering forces across sea and land, combining naval and tactical combat within a dark-fantasy action RPG.
Maneater 2 makes the shark the worst guest at the party
Maneater 2 brings back the ShaRkPG format with a new setting built for disaster. The sequel sends its shark into Neptune’s Kingdom, an invite-only preview event for an ultra-luxury seaside theme park that is destined to fail spectacularly. Feeding, roaming, and evolving remain central to the premise, with the player-controlled shark serving as the event’s most dangerous attraction.
WPCA turns supernatural containment into the mission
WPCA: World Phasebound Control Authority casts players as a Containment Agent working for the Seoul Branch of the organization. The mission leads into a containment zone filled with bizarrely altered supernatural phenomena, with the game framing that dangerous work as a way to protect humanity. WPCA is planned for 2028, and its PlayStation game page for WPCA already carries a pre-order prompt.
Gundam and Final Fantasy add firm dates
Gundam Rogue Orbit has a March 5, 2027 release date. The high-mobility action game combines a cinematic story with hard-hitting combat in a new Gundam universe, giving the State of Play lineup another combat-heavy entry with a clear launch target.
Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for October 22, 2026, and its presentation announced a free demo covering the entire first chapter. Save data can carry over to the full game, which is presented as the first Final Fantasy built in an HD-2D style.
