The Type 74 Red Star Is Back in War Thunder at 30% Off Through September 7
The Japanese premium tank costs 5,866 Golden Eagles during the sale and will return to 8,380 Golden Eagles afterward.
The Type 74 Red Star is back in War Thunder for a limited-time 30% discount, giving players until September 7 at 12:00 GMT to pick up the Japanese premium tank for 5,866 Golden Eagles.
Gaijin Entertainment outlined the promotion in its Steam announcement. The vehicle can be found under Japan > Army > Premium vehicles, and it will remain available after the sale ends at its regular price of 8,380 Golden Eagles.
The offer marks the service anniversary of the Type 74, which Mitsubishi manufactured for the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force. Japan adopted the main battle tank on September 5, 1974. It was not delivered to other countries and remained in service for almost 50 years before being withdrawn in 2024.
What the Type 74 Red Star offers
The Red Star version came from a training unit that used the tank as an opposing force vehicle representing the USSR. Its red star markings give it a different look, but its performance is the same as the researchable Type 74 (C). The premium status and appearance are the only differences between the two vehicles.
In battle, the tank is equipped with a laser rangefinder and a 105 mm L7A3 gun. The weapon has a two-plane stabilizer and supports APDS and HEATFS rounds, giving the vehicle access to both of the ammunition types listed for the promotion.
