Jin Sakai will return as a playable character when Ghost of Yōtei’s Most Wanted mode launches on October 1, 2026. Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions revealed the addition during the September 3 State of Play, bringing Ghost of Tsushima’s protagonist into Yōtei’s single-player combat survival mode on PS5.
Most Wanted will feature four playable characters, Atsu, Nagato, Oyuki and Jin. Each character will have unique abilities, while the controls will remain similar to those in the main campaign. Jin will also have all four of his signature stances from Ghost of Tsushima, carrying his familiar combat style into the new mode.
Escalating bounties shape each run
Built as a roguelike, Most Wanted will have players accept bounties to begin each run. Those bounties become harder as players complete them, while defeating enemies grants perks and upgrades that increase a character’s power.
Players will earn Mon during runs and spend it on new techniques, weapon upgrades, charms and other improvements. Completing runs will unlock additional characters and create a progression path across repeated attempts.
Sucker Punch explained in the PlayStation Blog post that Most Wanted was designed as an extension of Ghost of Yōtei’s core combat systems. Familiar weapons and mechanics will remain in place, while different characters, perks and builds will let players try out new loadouts from run to run.
Echoes of Sekigahara arrives with the mode
Most Wanted will arrive alongside Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara on October 1. The story expansion will move between Atsu’s present in Ezo and flashbacks to her time on the mainland during the Battle of Sekigahara.
In the present-day sections, Atsu will enter a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and the Vipers. Flashbacks will introduce Nagato as a figure from her past and cover a key moment before Atsu returned home to pursue vengeance. The expansion will also add new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes.
The October 1 schedule was already established when Sony announced the two additions in August, including the survival mode and expansion in the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition coverage.
Complete Edition upgrade pricing
Players who already own Ghost of Yōtei can pre-order the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99. It will unlock Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara on October 1, while also granting immediate access to in-game content previously included with the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Players who do not own the game can purchase the digital Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition now for $69.99.
