It’s quite a huge thing to implement something like this, but if Infinity Ward manages to do it, then it could potentially be head to head with the most notorious Battle Royale in the world, and that is Fortnite. CoD: Warzone has met its success shortly after the launch, but there’s nothing really in advance that will hold to that success.
Infinity Ward has come out with an idea to keep the momentum thriving, and potentially hit another milestone that will be reached thanks to new technology. Live events! Yes. They are indubitably the most attractive pieces in Fortnite. Once a Live event takes place, everyone tries to anticipate it, which may be a winning situation for any other video game, not only CoD: Warzone.
In a recent interview with VentureBeat, Director Taylor Kurosaki stated about the Warzone narrative, and how it will develop and whether or not it is as important as the core gameplay itself. It seems that the Warzone narrative will move into a new direction, and it may have a chance to be similar to Fortnite.
We’ve talked a lot in the past about whether games like Fortnite have a narrative. I would say yes, absolutely. I’d say Warzone does as well. But for me, it’s in a genre and a tone that I greatly prefer.
