Albion Online’s Dragonfire Update Brings Dragons and a 20-Player Raid
Players can now enter the Ancient Lands, face Azaryon in the Dragon Sanctuary, and claim launch rewards through September 14.

Albion Online’s Dragonfire update is now live, opening the Ancient Lands, awakening dragons across the world, and adding the game’s largest dedicated PvE encounter yet. Players can enter the new floating-island realm, hunt Drakes, join Dragon Attacks, and gather a 20-player group to challenge Azaryon, the Fire Dragon.
Sandbox Interactive outlined the launch in its Steam announcement, alongside the official Dragonfire update page. The update also continues the story of the Ashborn, whose ritual has opened portals to a realm sealed away for thousands of years.
The Ancient Lands open new routes
Portals across Albion now lead to the Ancient Lands, a broken realm of floating islands, Keeper ruins, and dangerous magical terrain. Portal sizes support parties ranging from solo adventurers to groups of 20, with similarly sized parties entering together.

Each island includes objectives that help players collect Keystones and activate Leygates. Opening more routes leads deeper into the region, where the rewards improve and rival groups become a greater threat. Players can hunt powerful Drakes, push toward the Fire Drake at the center of the realm, and search for Spirit Waystones.
Azaryon awaits in the Dragon Sanctuary
A Spirit Waystone gives a 20-player party access to the Dragon Sanctuary, a pure PvE raid dungeon built around Albion’s strongest equipment and group setups. The encounter sends players through Fire Drakes and formidable Ashborn enemies before the final battle against Azaryon, the Fire Dragon.
Azaryon’s attacks make the Dragon Sanctuary Albion’s most demanding PvE encounter so far. The danger does not end in the Ancient Lands, either. Dragon Attacks can appear across the Royal Continent with little warning, pulling nearby adventurers into large battles. In the Outlands, attacks are announced ahead of time, giving guilds time to gather while also allowing rival groups to contest the fight and its rewards.
Dragonfire adds new gear and a Firewing Drake
Dragon Scales can be crafted into the new Dragonslayer armor set, while ingredients from the Ancient Lands support new food and potions. Increasing Draconic Insight unlocks the Ancient Mystic vanity set, giving dedicated dragon hunters another reward to chase.
Defeating Azaryon can also provide a Fire Drake Egg. Players can raise the egg alongside their other mounts, eventually turning it into a Firewing Drake. New Albion Journal missions, Guild Challenges, and Lore Fragments add more objectives for players who want to follow Dragonfire’s mysteries beyond the raid.
