Meccha Chameleon 4.1.0 Brings 2 New Maps and Join Code Search

The update also reworks Greece and Egypt, hides in-progress games from public searches through an option, and cuts painting-related network data usage by 40%.

Meccha Chameleon Update 4.1.0 brings 2 new official maps, reworks for Greece and Egypt, and a new way to find servers. LEMORION’s Steam announcement for Update 4.1.0 also covers join-code searches, public match visibility, painting, voice chat, controls, and performance fixes.

The new map pair consists of Kyoto and Art Museum. They follow the Shopping Mall map added in Update 3.9.0, giving players more official locations to visit.

Join codes replace the old server browser

Update 4.1.0 replaces the legacy server browser with a search built around 5-character alphanumeric join codes. Those codes can also be verified in-game, which should make joining the right server less of a guessing game.

In-progress games are hidden during public searches, although players can toggle that behavior in the options. The search screen now displays server elapsed time as well, helping players find servers that are still waiting for hunters.

Match rules receive a few direct changes too. A game ends when the hunter count reaches 0 while hunters are waiting. Taunts now have a 1-second cooldown, while the minimum forced taunt interval increases from 1 second to 5 seconds.

On the technical side, painting uses 40% less network data. The update also addresses framerate-related stick controls, hider camera controls, ammo settings that reset between matches, a crash issue, voice chat feedback, and performance drops when opening the options menu.
