Warlock Shows Nearly 10 Minutes of Open-World D&D Gameplay Ahead of 2027
Wizards of the Coast's upcoming adventure features Tasha, the archmage and demonologist connected to the Forgotten Realms.

Warlock received an extended gameplay showcase during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, offering a closer look at the open-world Dungeons & Dragons adventure planned for 2027. The new footage runs for roughly eight minutes, giving the upcoming game far more time in the spotlight than its earlier reveal.
Wizards of the Coast first announced Warlock in late 2025 as a new open-world project set within the D&D universe. The game also features Tasha, the archmage and demonologist familiar to fans of the Forgotten Realms.
The presentation frames Warlock as a Dragon’s Dogma-style experience, putting it on a different path from Baldur’s Gate 3 and its turn-based RPG structure. That contrast makes the new footage especially useful: it shows how another major D&D game is approaching the setting after Larian Studios’ massive success.
Warlock is scheduled to arrive in 2027, though the material available so far does not provide a more specific release date. For now, the long gameplay segment gives fans their clearest look yet at what Wizards of the Coast has been building.
