Once Human Version 3.0.4 Will Bring a Full First-Person Overhaul Before Console Launch

The August 24 maintenance announcement outlined the Global Heat event, controller remapping, shop changes, and rewards including 1,000 Starchrom and an Epic S14 crate.

Once Human Version 3.0.4 was scheduled for server maintenance on August 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM (PT), with downtime expected to last about 2 hours. The Once Human Development Team outlined the update in its Steam announcement, including a large first-person expansion, new controller options, cosmetics changes, and the upcoming console launch.

The console version is scheduled to launch on August 25 at 11:00 AM (PT). Players can link their accounts to synchronize data across PC and mobile. Version 3.0.4 also lists the next update for September 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM (PT).

Download sizes were listed at approximately 22.38 GB on PC launchers, 119 MB on the PC client, 677 MB on Android, and 685 MB on iOS. The developer warned that a delayed Steam update could download more than once and recommended using Wi-Fi.

After maintenance, players will receive 1,000 Starchrom, 100 Mitsuko’s Mark, one Stardust Secret Crate: S14 (Epic), and 30 Colorful Badges. The update follows Once Human’s August 17 bug-fix pass, but Version 3.0.4 covers a much wider range of systems.

Version 3.0.4 Patch Notes

Version 3.0.4 is built around first-person play, with underwater movement, gliding, Deviation abilities, melee improvements, and new interaction animations. It also changes how fashion dyes consume currency, adds more Custom Server controls, brings back the classic controller hotbar, and introduces custom button mapping. The notes include shop reorganizations, new cosmetics, permanent-server tasks, vehicle recovery, and several fixes.

Achievement Trophy System

Achievement Trophy System is now live! Come unlock your exclusive trophy!

To enrich the adventures of all Metas and record every highlight you achieve in the game, we’ve simultaneously launched 35 challenging and fun new achievement trophies across all platforms in this update. Whether you’re a newcomer or a veteran Meta, you’ll find a challenge of your own on this achievement list!

Supported Platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Google Play

Unlock Details: The achievement system will begin recording and synchronizing completion status after this maintenance update. Previously completed historical data will not be automatically loaded and applied.

First-Person Immersion Gets a Full Upgrade

We’ve received a lot of feedback asking for first person mode to support more actions and scenarios. In this maintenance update, the developers have carried out a large-scale expansion and rework of the underlying logic and presentation of the first-person perspective. From exploring the deep sea to gliding at high altitudes, from coordinated combat with Deviations to fierce melee fighting, we bring you an unprecedented ultimate immersive experience!

Added Supported Scenarios for First Person Mode

To give Metas a more seamless and immersive experience while exploring Nalcott, we have greatly expanded the states and scenarios supported by first person mode:

Land, Sea, and Air Exploration

Underwater Experience: You can now dive and explore underwater entirely from a first-person perspective, and all items usable underwater have been adapted with first-person use actions.

High-Altitude Glide: Now supports entering and exiting the glide state in first-person throughout, letting you experience the exhilarating rush of a lightning-fast dive!

Deviations in Combat

After the update, the battle skills of certain Deviations can now be used directly in first-person! This update has implemented most Combat Deviations, including Invincible Sun, Pyro Dino, Polar Jelly, and more (excluding some Deviations with special mechanics, such as Whalepup).

Going forward, we will continue to refine the performance of Deviation ultimates, further highlight the unique traits of each Deviation, and gradually support unleashing ultimates in first-person. Stay tuned!

Invincible Sun

Pyro Dino

Polar Jelly

Tactical Maneuvers and Interactions

“Aero Leap” and “Slide”: You can now use “Aero Leap” and “Slide” in first-person at any time, with full support for flexible movement in all 4 directions, making your gunfight positioning even smoother.

Scene Interactions: Full support for first-person interactions such as climbing ladders, using ziplines, and opening doors with card swipes.

Shield Generator: We have specifically updated the first-person use animation for Shield Generators in RaidZone.

Experience Optimizations

Combat and Controls

Melee Feel Optimization: We greatly improved the camera bobbing when moving with a melee weapon in first-person mode, and adjusted the transition animations between melee attacks, making every swing feel more impactful.

Screen Shake Optimization: Improved the screen shake feedback logic in first-person mode. Screen shake intensity in first-person will now strictly follow the “Screen Shake Intensity” option in the Settings panel.

Note: Metas who experience 3D motion sickness can lower this option as needed.

Wilderness Exploration

Climbing Experience Optimization: We’ve optimized the trigger timing of climbing actions in first-person mode, reducing stutter and significantly improving the smoothness of parkour and movement in complex terrain.

System and Settings

New “First Person Model Offset” setting: This new option has been added to the Settings panel, allowing you to adjust the distance between the weapon model and the screen edge in First Person mode. Whether you’re a hardcore shooter Metas who prefers the weapon snug against the edge of your view, or a cosmetics enthusiast who wants to showcase more weapon details, you can now freely customize the optimal position of your weapon model on screen!

Fashion Set Custom Dye Optimization

1. Comprehensive overhaul of the dyeing consumption logic: Dyeing charges will be adjusted from “charging after dyeing individual sections” to “charging after dyeing individual components.”

After the update, Metas can freely adjust the dyeing of each section within a component, freely mix and match their preferred color schemes, and are no longer constrained by “separate consumptions for each section.” You can freely combine multiple colors on a top, and you can also adjust detail sections at any time.

* The color tier classification remains unchanged; charges will be calculated based on the highest-tier color used in the component, and mixing is supported.

2. Along with the optimization of the charging logic, we have simultaneously lowered the overall pricing for dyeing. After the optimization, the price of a full dye set has dropped by approximately 60% compared to the previous version, making customization more accessible and easier.

3. Currently, only a limited number of sets support dyeing. In the September update (UTC+8), we will gradually release more dyeable sets across more rarities, allowing more of your favorite Fashion items to be dyed in colors that are uniquely yours. Stay tuned!

4. For Metas who have already dyed your items, we fully understand that you have invested time and resources under the previous rules. To protect everyone’s existing investment, we will uniformly refund the price difference after the August 24 update (PT). Your existing dye effects will not change—please rest assured.

Due to the differences between the old and new consumption rules, it is difficult to calculate the exact price difference for each set, so we will uniformly refund 60% of the currency consumed. Refunds will be automatically issued via in-game mail within 3 business days after the August 25 update.

For example: Before the August 25 update, Metas A consumed a total of 7200 Crystgins and 2250 Colorful Badges while dyeing. After the August 25 update, at the 60% refund ratio of consumed currency, Metas A will receive a price difference refund of 4320 Crystgins (7200 × 60%) and 1350 Colorful Badges (2250 × 60%).

* If you have any questions regarding the compensation you receive, please contact in-game customer service, and we will verify and handle them for you.

For more information, refer to the dyeing dev blog: 染色蓝帖

Server Opening Schedule

To make it easier for Metas to play the Prismverse’s Clash scenario, we will open 1 Prismverse’s Clash Server every Saturday at 8:00 Server Time.

*If the number of sign-ups is too high, we will open additional servers.

After this maintenance update, go to Announcements >>> 开服公告

Shop Item Adjustments & Some Cosmetics Removals

To restore a clean, simple experience for the Shop, we will make an overall adjustment to the Shop after the version update on August 24 (PT), including:

  1. We will withdraw items with lower purchase frequency to improve browsing and selection efficiency. For details on the withdrawn items, see >>> 商城调整蓝帖

Please note that this removal does not mean these items are permanently gone. They will still be made available again in the future through occasional returns, the Wish Bazaar, and other ways. If any of the items being removed catch your eye, feel free to grab them while you can, and stay tuned for future Shop updates and events.

2. Optimize the Shop’s hierarchical structure by removing the original three-level category tabs and replacing them with top category filters.

3. A new “Personal Hub” page has been added. After the update, you can click the button on the currency bar in the upper-right corner of the Shop to expand the Personal Hub, where you can view your current currency, coupons, wishlist items, subscribed items, and more in one place.

Meta Pass Subscription Now Live!

The Meta Pass subscription feature is rolling out across multiple platforms for your convenience. Enable auto-renewal for the first time and you can claim extra 80 Crystgins as a bonus gift!

  • Subscription Channels: Due to differences in payment channels, the auto-subscription feature will first be enabled on selected platforms in this update and will gradually expand to more platforms in subsequent versions. Please stay tuned for future announcements. Whether your channel supports auto-subscription is subject to the actual display in the in-game Meta Pass interface and the corresponding payment channel.
  • How to Enable: Go to the in-game Meta Pass interface, check the “Auto-Subscribe” option; select a payment channel that supports this feature to complete the purchase, and confirm the authorization as prompted on the page.
  • Auto-Renewal: Once your authorization takes effect, your Meta Pass will be automatically renewed upon expiration according to the rules of the corresponding channel, and you will continue to enjoy Meta Pass benefits. The actual charge time, amount, and rules before and after renewal are subject to the display on the payment channel page.
  • First Subscription Reward: The first time you successfully enable the Meta Pass auto-subscription, you will receive extra 80 Crystgins. Repeated subscriptions or subsequent auto-renewals will not grant this reward again.
  • Manage Subscription: You can manage your subscription at any time through your payment channel. Canceling the subscription will not affect the benefit days you have already claimed and activated. The steps for managing subscriptions via the payment channel may vary. Generally, you can check and manage your subscription products through the payment channel’s Account Settings > Subscriptions. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the payment channel or in-game Customer Service at any time.

Experience Optimizations

Item Balance Adjustments

  1. Sparkling Pumpkin Soup will now restore Energy, consistent with the buffeffect of dishes. Generally, only food dishes provide combat stats buffs (except Whimsy Drink and Whimsical Drink). We sincerely apologize for the previous issue where Sparkling Pumpkin Soup incorrectly added a beverage stats buff.
  2. Robot Fish now consumes Durability, deducting 10% of its Durability per minute.

Please note: The obtained Robot Fish will be quickly damaged after entering water due to no durability after this update. It is recommended that all Metas disassemble them into materials to avoid losses. We will issue Robot Fish ×3 to all Metas after the version update.

Combat Balance Adjustments

In this update, we will adjust QBJ97 – Fiery Trees and Silver Flowers and the Ghost Link Set to optimize their overall experience.

We have identified the following issues with the recent weapons and gear:

  1. The Unstable Bomber and missile trigger chances of QBJ97 – Fiery Trees and Silver Flowers are too low, which affects its performance in short bursts, target switching, and damage output stability.
  2. The 3-piece set effect of the Ghost Link Set has relatively demanding trigger conditions.
  3. The QBJ97 gun model has excessively high overall recoil.

Based on these, the following adjustments will be made:

*For specific effects, please refer to the actual values in the game after launch.

Cosmetics

  1. Optimized the corner rendering of Golden Shore Pool: changed the four pool corners from rounded to right angles to improve the issue of possible gaps when connecting with wall corners and the ground.
  2. Added a clean preview mode to the cosmetics interface, allowing you to hide the UI to preview and share screenshots.
  3. Vehicle Skins – Tidal Hunt, Golden Radiance, Blue Blade, Hellfire Howl, and Lightspeed Era: equipping front bumper guards, rear bumper guards, and outer wheel hub guards will now match the corresponding skins.
  4. Cosmetic Preset Function Optimization:
    1. Adjusted the entry point for the cosmetic preset feature. Open the Cosmetics interface and click “Outfits” to enter the outfit plan preset interface. When saving a preset, an outfit preview card will be displayed.
    2. Metas can now also save their show/hide settings for cosmetics in presets.
    3. Cosmetics presets will now override hairstyle, hairstyle dye, and fashion dye. Newly created appearance presets no longer include hairstyle.

Appearance Sharing

The appearance sharing feature now adds sharing and importing via a text cipher, in addition to the current QR code sharing.

Events

  1. Optimized some tasks and rewards in the event “Mayfly’s Exploration Guide”.
  2. The Beginner Growth event will end after the version update on August 24 (PT), and the Redeem Shop will also close at the same time.
  3. Optimized the event interfaces for Gather Friends and Accept Invitation to make them easier to read and use. Already linked Metas data will not be affected.
  4. The Block Adventure event will end after the version update on August 24 (PT).

Permanent Server

  1. Manibus Permanent Server monthly Challenge Task adjustment: Clear The Prime War on Pro difficulty 5 times in total, and earn a rating > 2,000 in a single match.
  2. Added task for Permanent Server monthly challenge: Obtain 5,000 Mod Dust in total. Completion grants 100 Mitsuko’s Marks.

Please note: This adjustment was released on August 11 (PT): New tasks on all permanent servers, “Obtain a total of 30,000 Starchroms”; the task “Spend a total of 30,000 Starchroms” will close at the 6:00 AM server time reset on September 1, 2026.

Tasks

Optimized the task guidance and story performances in the Manibus and The Way of Winter scenarios, and added expressive animations to Metas’ dialogues.

Vehicle (non-RaidZone only)

  1. Added a vehicle recovery feature. Metas can now recover vehicles through the “More” interaction on the vehicle, preventing them from being left parked in the wild for a long time.
  2. Metas can now share vehicle driving permissions with friends and hive members in Settings.

Controller Controls

Classic Hotbar Returns

We’ve received a lot of feedback from players hoping for the return of the classic hotbar. In this maintenance update, we’ve brought it back! It now coexists with the wheel control mode, so Metas can choose the control mode they prefer.

Added “Wheel” and “Horizontal Hotbar” as selectable options in the Settings screen.

Once Human controller settings menu with hotbar options

Horizontal Hotbar Mode

Custom Button Mapping

To give Metas a more comfortable controller experience, we’ve added the long-awaited controller custom button mapping feature. Each Meta can now define their own button operations according to their habits.

You can go to Settings > Controller > Button Details > Custom Button Settings.

Custom Button Modifications

Reload and Interaction Button Optimizations

For the long-standing priority issue between “Reload” and “Interact with Target”, you can now set in the controller custom button settings whether they use the same button or two separate buttons.

Reload and Interaction on the Same Button

Reload and Interaction on Separate Buttons

Other Controller Optimizations

  1. Optimized controller cursor sensitivity, and added a new snap switch setting.
  2. The Tab menu can now be navigated continuously by holding.
  3. Optimized the deadzone ranges of the controller’s L/R sticks and triggers for more precise input.
  4. Optimized the interaction range of the controller’s universal interaction.

  2. Fixed an issue where the female footed tights of the Radiant Serenade set would occasionally display incorrectly.
  3. Fixed an issue where Metas could not pass through Gate: Spring’s Lattice properly sometimes.
  4. Fixed an issue where the third-person camera would occasionally be offset after a character woke up.

Build

Fixed an issue where the “Lightning Rod” facility would occasionally experience abnormal collisions after being placed in the “Endless Dream” scenario.

Online Trading

Fixed an issue where Chaos Mutagen could not be listed for sale in Vending Machines or Online Trading.

Controller Handling

  1. Fixed an issue where some button display texts were not synchronized after remapping buttons.
  2. Fixed an issue where the Settings interface displayed incorrectly in some cases during controller handling.
  3. Fixed an issue where conflicts could occur after modifying special buttons in some custom controller mappings.
  4. Fixed an issue where the display was abnormal when operating the wheel with the stick.
