Nioh 3 Ver. 2.00.02 Will Fix a Guardian Spirit Save Issue
The update addresses affected saves tied to The Fall of Edo Castle and Battle Scrolls control modes, while Murakumo (Ninja Style) will receive a set level.
Nioh 3 Ver. 2.00.02 is aimed at a save-data problem that can load Guardian Spirits incorrectly and prevent players from traversing Spirit Veins. Team NINJA details the fix in the Steam patch notes.
The issue affects save data created for The Fall of Edo Castle or the Battle Scrolls Basic Controls and Expanded Controls before Update 2.00.01. Loading one of those saves after applying Update 2.00.01 can cause the Guardian Spirits in the player’s possession to load incorrectly, blocking access to Spirit Veins.
Applying Ver. 2.00.02 will correct the Guardian Spirit data and resolve the traversal problem. There is one exception: the Guardian Spirit Level of Murakumo (Ninja Style) will not load correctly on affected saves, so the game will assign it a set level for every player who loads that data.

This update focuses on a single save-data bug. It restores Guardian Spirit loading for affected files and addresses the Murakumo level separately so those saves can continue to function.
■ Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where, if the player created save data for The Fall of Edo Castle or the Battle Scrolls Basic Controls or Expanded Controls before applying Update 2.00.01, then loading that save data after applying Update 2.00.01 would cause the Guardian Spirits in their possession to load incorrectly, which made it impossible to traverse Spirit Veins.
Note: Applying the update will resolve this issue and cause the Guardian Spirits to load correctly.
Note: The Guardian Spirit Level of Murakumo (Ninja Style) will not load correctly, so we have changed the Guardian Spirit Level of Murakumo (Ninja Style) to a set level for all players who load the affected save data.
