Tyr’s return in Laufey is looking more plausible after Diogo Morgado, the voice actor for Tyr’s Portuguese track, gave an answer that sounded more like a carefully guarded tease than a denial. The upcoming God of War spin-off stars Kratos’ wife, Laufey, and a Reddit discussion about the report has brought the latest clue to wider attention.
Roughly four months earlier, earlier MP1st coverage claimed that the spin-off would feature multiple mythologies and bring back Tyr, the Norse god of war. The reveal trailer did not mention or hint at the character, leaving that claim without public confirmation at the time.
Morgado’s answer leaves Tyr’s role unconfirmed
The latest clue comes from Morgado’s reaction to Laufey gameplay, detailed in MP1st’s coverage of his comments. Around the 54:53 mark, he was asked whether he would appear in Laufey as well.
Morgado laughed before replying, “If you only knew how restrictive an NDA is.” He then added, “Once this State of Play is over, I’ll tell you on a scale of 1 to 10 just how hard I had to bite my tongue to not say anything.”
That exchange does not formally confirm Tyr’s involvement, but it also does not close the door on the earlier leak. Morgado’s promise to discuss how difficult it was to stay quiet gives the impression that he knew more than he could share at the time.
Another clue came from Ben Prendergast, who voiced Tyr and performed motion capture for him in God of War Ragnarök. He replied to a Domino’s Pizza post with a GIF of Tyr wearing sunglasses and the caption, “I haven’t seen a burn like this since Muspelheim.” Prendergast has not confirmed a role in Laufey, so the reference remains playful rather than proof that Tyr is part of the spin-off’s cast.
