PSXTech’s 34-minute gameplay video captures the test on an Intel Core i5 14400F paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. The extended gameplay gives the performance result more context than a brief boot sequence, showing KyTyPS5 handling a full 2D action platformer session at 60 FPS.
God of War Sons of Sparta gives KyTyPS5 a fresh test
Released exclusively on PS5 on February 12, 2026, God of War Sons of Sparta is a pixel-art action platformer set during the youth of Kratos and Deimos at the Spartan training camp known as the Agoge. The game serves as a prequel to the wider God of War franchise.
Combat focuses on attacks, dodges, blocks, and parries with a Spartan spear and shield. Players can change the spear’s tip, handle, and pommel, along with the shield rim, and those parts affect combos, skills, and parry timing. Health, Spirit, and Magic provide separate resources for survival, stronger actions, and special attacks tied to gifts from Olympus.
The game also supports local two-player co-op and includes The Pit, an endgame roguelite mode built around repeated challenges. Those systems give the emulator more to handle than a short opening sequence, even though this result remains tied to a KyTyPS5 fork that was not available publicly.
Earlier KyTyPS5 demonstrations covered Demon’s Souls Remake and Astro Bot through special or custom forks. Marvel’s Wolverine has reached an in-game state, while Grand Theft Auto 5 was described as somewhat playable. God of War Sons of Sparta adds a recent PS5 release to that progress with a 60 FPS gameplay run.
