Once Human Sets an August 19 Deadline for Golden Shore Pool Refunds
Players who keep the Summer Echoes furniture pack will receive Lightforge Ingot ×1 and Colorful Badge ×150, while swimming support is planned within three months at the latest.

Once Human players who purchased the Summer Echoes furniture pack have until 09:00 on August 19 (PT) to request a refund for the Golden Shore Pool formula. Players who keep the pack will receive a separate compensation bundle instead. The development team detailed the plan in its August 14 Steam announcement.
Summer Echoes launched on August 12 (PT), but Golden Shore Pool quickly drew complaints. The water is a special furniture effect rather than a swimmable body of water, so players can use interactions such as floating on swim rings but cannot actually swim. In scenes with heavy performance pressure, the water can also disappear or render incorrectly.
Players also reported problems with the pool’s placement and visual presentation. The development team acknowledged that the formula has not reached the expected standard, particularly when the pool sits near buildings and foundations.
Refund or keep the Summer Echoes pack
| Choice | Compensation | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Option 1: Request a refund through the Feedback Platform | Full refund in Crystgin | The related unlocked formulas will be reclaimed. |
| Option 2: Keep the furniture pack | Lightforge Ingot ×1 and Colorful Badge ×150 | The player keeps Summer Echoes and receives the compensation items. |
To request a refund, players must sign in with the account used to purchase Summer Echoes, open the Once Human Feedback Platform, and submit feedback titled Request a Summer Echoes refund. The team will verify the purchase before processing the request. It says refund and compensation distribution will be completed before 09:00 on August 21 (PT).

If the Feedback Platform cannot be opened or signed into normally, the in-game route is ESC/Menu – Feedback & Customer Service – Feedback Platform – Suggestion. The same platform has also been used for Starry Studio’s recent community-priority updates, including the seventh feedback round.
Swimming support is planned within three months
The water will remain non-swimmable for now, but the development team says it has added the needed work to its future plans. Based on its current estimate, the team expects to make Golden Shore Pool swimmable within three months at the latest. Further progress will be shared through official announcements.
A separate fix for missing water effects on some mobile devices has already received priority. Because the problem involves performance and rendering across different devices, the team has not provided a completion date and will share updates through future bug-fix announcements.
More visual changes are planned for the pool
The pool’s shape is expected to blend more naturally with nearby buildings and foundations after visual adjustments planned for September 2026. The team is also investigating cases where characters appear misaligned or render abnormally after entering the pool. Those issues appear to involve the semi-transparent visual-effects structure beneath the water on certain devices, and possible fixes are still being discussed.
Lowering the pool foundation further is not planned in the short term. According to the development team, that request would involve terrain destruction and the furniture system’s terrain adaptation limits, which the current system cannot support.
