Patch 12.1 Gives World of Warcraft’s Male Undead a New Way to Be Rude
The added /rude animation is a small cosmetic update for male Undead characters.

World of Warcraft Patch 12.1 added a new animation to the /rude emote for male Undead characters. It is a small cosmetic update, but it gives the race another bit of personality to display in-game.
The animation is tied specifically to male Undead, rather than applying to every character that uses the command. A Wowhead report documents the addition and shows the updated gesture sequence.
A player initially misunderstood the change as a replacement for an option that already existed alongside another version. A follow-up post clarified that Blizzard had added the animation rather than removing an existing choice. After correcting the misunderstanding, the player praised the update as a more respectful take that still retains the Undead’s grit, calling it more “Warcraft” than the other version.
As an emote animation, the change is visual rather than a new ability or combat adjustment. Players using a male Undead can see it by entering /rude, making it one of the smaller Patch 12.1 details tucked into Blizzard’s MMORPG.
