Escape from Tarkov’s Latest Player Split Put Seasonal PvP on Top

Nikita Buyanov's August 12, 2026 breakdown placed PvP Season at 55%, PvE at 38%, and standard PvP at 7%.

Escape from Tarkov‘s latest player breakdown put seasonal PvP ahead of every other tracked mode. The figures shared on August 12, 2026, showed 55% of players in PvP Season, 38% in PvE, and 7% in PvP.

The three figures account for the entire player base, with seasonal PvP holding a 17-percentage-point lead over PvE. The split covered PvP Season, PvE, and standard PvP; Escape from Tarkov: Arena, a separate multiplayer shooter, was not included. The separate PvP category represented the smallest share at 7%.

Seasonal PvP led the reported split

The breakdown came from Nikita Buyanov, who acknowledged in his August 12 social-media post that an earlier estimate of a roughly 50-50 split between PvP and PvE near the end of a wipe was wrong. The expectation had been that adding a seasonal PvP option would create three similarly sized groups. The figures described where players were located across the three modes at that moment, rather than establishing a permanent measure of how the community will be divided.

PvE still accounted for more than a third of players, but the numbers showed that the seasonal PvP experience had the largest share by a wide margin. Standard PvP, meanwhile, made up only a small portion of the reported total.

Seasonal PvP added progression features

Seasonal PvP gives players another character option alongside modifiers, a battle pass, exclusive rewards, and dedicated missions. The season also ends with a wipe, adding a reset cycle to the mode’s progression.
