Crimson Desert is targeting a release on Switch 2 during the first half of 2027. Pearl Abyss shared the window in its Q2 2026 earnings report, giving the game a six-month target rather than a firm launch date.
The first half of 2027 covers January through June, but Pearl Abyss has not provided a more precise month or day. Until that changes, the Switch 2 version remains scheduled for that broader window.
Crimson Desert launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in March 2026. The Switch 2 version will follow as a later release for Nintendo players.
Pearl Abyss says the Switch 2 version has reached a “playable baseline,” while technical reviews and playtests continue to improve its performance and ensure it meets the company’s quality standards. The team also wants to preserve Crimson Desert’s graphics, combat, and open-world experience instead of delivering a basic port. Details such as its resolution and performance modes have not been announced.
The project follows months of internal research. During a March shareholder meeting, Pearl Abyss CEO Heo Jin-young discussed bringing Crimson Desert to Nintendo hardware and noted that the original Switch’s lower specifications would require compromises and additional development work.
That gives Nintendo players a little more waiting to do before Crimson Desert reaches the console. A narrower release date may follow closer to launch.
